Buckles: Thank you for the photo and information on elephants and carts. Bill Galloway
Buckles. I find that "Vance" was on Al G. Barnes from 1917 -34. I am not able to find that "Barney" was on that show.
Any idea when the photo was takem and on what show. Thanks.
My records indicate that both "Barney" and "Vance" arrived in San Francisco the winter of 1916-17 aboard the "Tenyo Maru".
"Barney" was named after Mr. Barnes himself and "Vance" after the son of Wm. V. Hill, a friend of Barnes.
"Barney" lasted with the show thru 1924 and was then sold to Mexico.
