Anonymous said...: Buckles. I find that "Vance" was on Al G. Barnes from 1917 -34. I am not able to find that "Barney" was on that show.

Buckles said...: My records indicate that both "Barney" and "Vance" arrived in San Francisco the winter of 1916-17 aboard the "Tenyo Maru".
"Barney" was named after Mr. Barnes himself and "Vance" after the son of Wm. V. Hill, a friend of Barnes.

"Barney" lasted with the show thru 1924 and was then sold to Mexico.; 09 October, 2007 13:23
