Albert Fleet with "Minnie" and "Mickey"

I remember "Mickey" well, a charming animal, after riding the bike he would sometimes throw it into the audience. He could easily pick up a section of ring curb which was a handy weapon to use against the prop crew.
The only thing he feared were the elephants which he gave a wide berth but once past them he would maybe pitch a flake of hay their direction.

Travelling with big chimps in 1943 would be a challenge (heating and medical problems). Buddy W. said his Dad would often leave Florida with a small show that would stay in the South "until the snow stopped" then join Hamid-Morton or other big show up North.

That is a scary big chimp. His arms look like a weightlifter. He looks larger than the old one Harry & Charlotte Levine worked.cc

Wasn't it Mickey who threw a sledge hammer through the base drum on the bandstand over the back door in Minneapolis?

That sure is a cute little monkey.
I aways liked Mr.Bobby Gibbs saying "Those apes are big enough to be changing 10.00/20s at the 76 truck stop"!
A.K.A. Of the wet cookie slinging variety.
P.S. Levine's definitely had some damn fair size organ grinders.

Mikey was the one who bit off my Uncle Albert's finger in L.A. My Father Wilson and Uncle Albert had another chimp named Tommy who died in southern Arizona while they were traveling from Florida to California.
