Mike Baray (From Henry Penndorf)

There is another European animal trainer that I would like to know more about, Mike Baray. I was on the Burgus Circus web site and saw a posting about him. His real name is Michel Combarre but was known a! s Mike Baray. I believe he is French. From the pictures, Mike Baray looks to have worked mostly with lions. He appeared for a time with Circus Williams and Circus Jean Richard. The posting also spoke of a book that he had written with a title of "The European Trainer, Forty-Five Years Among The Deer (Lions)". Mike Baray may still be performing. Have you ever heard of him?

Mike Baray is with Circus Williams this year and he has been in the circus ring training lions for 50 years this year. Mike has worked with Cirque Jean Richard, Chipperfields Circus, Cirque Bouglione and Circus Williams plus many more circuses. He started when he was 19 training lions. Mike is the only man in the world using 4 male lions in an act, as this is recognised as being extremely dangerous and very difficult.
