This looks like a blowup ring curb, that can be removed. I can hear them telling someone with Col. Herriott's talent, "come on don't make a problem. If you are any good you can make them walk on it." And then deflating the ring curb, and asking, "if they go around and around a small circle, why won't they go around and around a big oval?" Wade Burck

Oh, My God it is a blow up ring curb and of all places the great European circuses. Some act that worked for George Carden must have spread the word. Guess next will be candy butchers in the seats, a light pitch and color book pitch. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Everytime I see these inflatable ring curbs I think someone is planning a pool party for the elephants. BYOG...Bring your own grain.

I note the blogger said it is the only three ring circus on the continent today, but only note one so-called ring in the photo.

D.R. Miller experimented with a blow up rng curb in one of the C&B rings when we were on the show in 1981 or 1982.

Hello Jim Royal! I think you're right; the blow up ring curb was used about two days if I remember correctly. Is that what you remember? Mr. Miller didn't like it. He reminded me of Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof:

TRADITION!

Hello Pat,

I thought it lasted a bit longer, but didn't make the season for sure. Of course that was a few years ago, and the old gray cells....
