This was a set of 15 glossy photos offered for sale by A. Morton Smith of Gainesville, TX, in the 1940s. Smith's typed notes are just as your father wrote but on this specific photo Smith says the man seen here is H.H. Tammen, "the show's seldom-photographed 'angel'" and an owner of the Denver Post newspaper. My copies are sharp glossies often with slightly wider margins but the paraffining photo
does not have as nice a contrast to show the parts not done. Are your photos glossy prints or perhaps the originals copied by Smith?

I have the complete set of pictures, including the one of Tammen however before sending out anything I try to check with our Bible "Bandwagon Magazine" and try not to duplicate anything since they covered this subject in their 1972 July-August issue.
I wasn't aware however, that the originals came from Morton Smith.
