scan0038, originally uploaded by bucklesw1. If this is Rogers Bros. Circus, as I suspect, the elephants would be "Shirley Temple", "Mary" and "Judy". The last two many years with Donnie Johnson. I saw this show in 1953, it's last season, and whatever caused it's failure certainly wasn't due to over spending on equipment. Why the elephants would be placed in a position to chew on the guy lines is unknown to me. Maybe this is as far as the truck would go.
