The borrowing of photographs, poster designs and even titles is as much a part of circus history as peanuts. You should have seen Art Miller lay out his ads for the next year. The first thing he did was get the publicity of every other show on the road and start clipping and pasting.

But for the record I believe this to be an actual and genuine photograph from yet another herald showing the African black rhino Ole Nick during his tenure with the Cole & Walters/George W Cole/Famous Cole Circus. I believe this picture shows the actual enclosure where this two-ton or perhaps just ton-and-a-half beast was kept out behind the home of Mr and Mrs Herb Walters in Hugo, Oklahoma.
