I will try to explain my comment, before i start i have no idea how to get on an elephant with a tiger on its back, "I LOVE THE LADDER"! I have great respect for Louis Knie, and the great work he has done over the years.
I'm sure the ladder is for the trainer, not the tiger - that little barrier doesn't look like it would do much if the tiger ever found a flapping ear irristable
I feel the ladder slows the whole momentum of the act...
Can we get the elephant moving around the ring with the tiger..and have the trainer/presenter (possibly as a sophisticated clown (I know... they All are!!) mount with a lift-cable as in a bareback act???)

The ladder was of course for the trainer. The elephant was seated to have the tiger on his back, then he was standing.
Wonderful presentation...!!
