Jim: There was some configuration of the Cristiani top that gave it an aura of its own, and I'm not sure how to describe it. I noticed it several times. I saw them last in 1959, when they billed Waco, but actually played the Eastgate Shopping Center in adjacent Bellmead. I didn't know anyone over there, but had read about them, and it was memorable to see both Mama and Papa Cristiani holding court in the backyard.
From what I was told, this tent was a 110' round with 2 -30's and a 45'. My guess is that the center may originally been 40', but that was too small a spacing for the ring needed for the riding act. A 5' extension may have been added. Some other photos of that tent, taken inside suggest that.
