Circus Fans & Friends #3

Bill Woodcock, Otto Scheiman and Fred Logan on the Kelly-Miller lot at Watseka, Ill. in 1951.
In the mid 1950's Mr. Scheiman found a used car dealership in South Bend where he lived, that allowed us to lay-off with the elephants, in their fenced in area.
This enabled me to take the South Shore line into Chicago on occasion where I saw RBBB twice on the Soldier Field parking lot (1954-55) plus other events like the D'oyly Carte Opera Company on tour and the Tom Packs elephants at a show called "Powerama".

Mr. Scheiman worked at the Studebaker Plant but on Saturdays was an usher at Notre Dame Stadium. He managed to get me a Press Pass and I spent a wonderful afternoon on the side line by the Fighting Irish bench. As it turned out Purdue won the game but alas, unlike Richard Reynolds, I don't remember the score.

Richard Reynolds says to Buckles:

The Purdue - Notre Dame game you saw was played at South Bend on Octobr 2,1954. Purdue won 27-14, the only loss by ND that year, It was Terry Brennan's first as head man, replacing the legendary Frank Leahy.
