 I was hoping Mr Kitto would have more pictures of Chipperfield "Big Show" in1953? I've attached a scan taken from my uncle Jimmy Chipperfield's book 'My WildLife' that shows the same tent, fully built up and Chipperfields doing reasonable business at Bristol in 1953. To the right of the tent are the Chipperfield family caravans. To the rear of the big tent is the menagerie with beast line, elephant and horse tents. Jim - -Can you post to the blog a photo of one of the brown hyenas you had? Not many folks in USA have ever seen one of them.
None have been with an American circus as far as I know.

The 2 Chipperfield phtos were purchased from an antique mall several years ago and they are the only ones I have.
