For new historians, this is one of four five-den cage wagons. They were spotted end-to-end, horizontal with the Big Top. An up-and-down chute ran from cage level to ground, connecting to the tunnel sections that extended to the back of Center Ring. Beatty's animal gate was at ground level when the prop boys were sober. One afternoon in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I walked in to check things over. The animal gate section had been upended, and was securely fastened and guyed out at 12 feet in the air.
