The band is shown on the back end of old 83 wagon, one of the neatest on the Beatty railroad show. This wagon had a closed-in section for the calliope and instrument storage in front (which you see to the left) and behind that a flatbed with sides and a tailgate which folded out to make the bandstand.

The seated musicians nearest us are on one of the sides, which as you see is folded down right above the chute for Beatty's cats. The conductor (is that Vic Robbins?) and the calliope player are standing on the tailgate.

When Art Concello came back over there and built the seat wagons, several of the original wagons (including this one) had to be sacrificed as their bases were needed for the seat wagons. There was also a donniker wagon built on one of the older bases.

Notice that Beatty's robe and towel are on the edge of this platform.
