Vargas elephants in practice #8

Steve (Hogjaw) Patton and "Betty Boop". Immortalized in one of my earlier tales about placing the bull boards in the elephant truck.

Don't do "IT" anymore and not just to sure I can even "SPELL" it nowadays. One of my favorite elephant man stories.

In Northbrook, Illinois Steve and Rex were giving elephant rides in the tent at intermission. Jon Pond (?), the ringmaster blew the whistle to clear the rings so the show could proceed. Steve immediately headed for the back door with his elephant. There were still people in line waiting for rides. Rex proceeded to race through another load and when he came into the backyard screamed at Steve - "you s. o. a. b., don't you ever leave the tent with people still waiting for rides. You cost me a lot of money." Rex had some other things to say which will go unsaid.
Steve said "whistle blew" and Rex said "I don't give a damn, never leave money in peoples hands."

She went to Scott Riddle's place in 1991 and remains there today.

I would like to comment on this photo. Iam a zookeeper/photo buff
this photo is my new background on my computer reason being is that it to me represents a working man and his charge, also the elephant seems vey content and the trainer has a relaxed swagger type look on his face, what a great photo!

I can only guess why he has the look on his face. Probably learned to spell THE word. LMAO It is so great knowing something the world does not and read their comments about what we know to be funnier then hell.
