The Dancing Girls tableau was built new for an enlarged Sparks show in 1916. It always paraded as their number one bandwagon even after the Corporation, which had dropped parades on their other shows, operated the Sparks show in 1929. After Ringling acquired the Corporation shows, parading ended though this wagon was carried in 1930. The show went into Sarasota at the end of the season and was cut to a 15-car show for its last season of 1931 and this wagon remained in winterquarters. While part of a small group of old parade wagons briefly selected for display at winterquarters in the 30s, it joined so many old wagons that were purposely burned in winterquarters before World War II. Did burning these beautiful pieces of art work help win the war?
