I'd be interested to know what had her attention off to the right; it must be very important to ignore a polar bear six inches from her head!

Pat,
I know that John Illig had the mixed Bear act for Mr. Clubb for a few years. Are there any Polar Bears still in any of Mr. Clubb's acts?

Hi Bob, The acts Jim Clubb currently has on the road are here in Japan. John and I have his lions, tigers, leopard, zebras and giraffe. I've been trying to persuade John for months to rustle up some photos of the bear act so I could send them in to the blog. But ya know, hey, he's a guy. He'll get to it when he gets to it.

For accuracy, any information on past Clubb acts should be directed to Jim Clubb himself. I goofed up once before on the bears.

When we layed over at Rene Strickler's in Switzerland in 1998, Rene allowed me to have a few pictures taken in the arena with his polar bear "Polaris". It was one of the greatest thrills of my life. When he entered the ring, I recall thinking this bear looked and moved like a living ice floe. I treasure the photos.
