The beautiful Lisa! She is an old and dear friend. She used to live out in Davenport/Haines City where I am still living. LOL She was a dear person, who for a while before going out on the RBBB show, she lived with my son Shane and me. She babysat Shane when I was working two jobs many times. This was a wonderful and fun Barnyard Act. Wonder where Lisa is now? Anyone know?

Hi Everyone!!! Thanks for putting the Barnyard act Photo up Buckles...I don't know whe Barney McDermott is but although Yes I am Mrs Holst legally, I am still Lisa Dufresne and have my own performing horse show called "Horses Horses Horses!!!" and travel down the road with 11 horses and book on fairs and festivals. I also have 2 internationally competitive dressage horses with whom I compete in Wellington Florida during the dressage season from January through April. Our Sarasota community is not exactly PLUSH!!! IT is a horse community for people who own horses!!

I get the feeling Mr. McDermott is suggesting someone else is a spoiled housewife,,when I was young, a wise show bum told me,,,"never marry a horsey chick, you will play secong fiddle to a horse apple the rest of your life". But hey,,,,,maybe this guy gets around all that in the rite GEAR.

I've read this blog since DAY ONE, I've never commented on anything until today.

I don't know where the Holst household is located, but I'll bet my $12. Cotton Candy and my $15. sno cone that their home is not a tumble-down shack along the Tamiami Trail.

Mrs. Holst's had an excellent liberty act in Ring One at one point, but I don't think she was a Holst then. Very nice act that had been around for some time with the orginal trainer, but very nicely presented when I was in the seats. The head lookover the next of the neighboring horse, whatever you call that trick, was a nice touch.

I thought the barnyard act was visually confusing, it seemed that it had as many attendants as it did animals. If you were seated on the lower level behind ring 3, it looked like a construction site in front of you.

Construction site or not, it was an act that got your attention just for being different. Wish there was something like this out there now. In the dog show world it is always the odd dog that got the attention, not the usual golden retriever, labadore , shelty that are so easy to train as they are bred for this type of thing. You should have seen the English Bulldog that competed in one show I attended doing everything the others did and did it better. He had everyones attention in the building. That took some real training and time. Lisa dared to be different. Good for her and her presentation of any act she presented. Looked great in the ring.
