 Opening Wow.. !! FUN!! Beautiful!! Clever! Technically brilliant!! Here are some shots I took last night (Mar 31, 2006) at the "opening-night" performance of the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus - The Greatest Show On Earth. (They deserve to keep the full title with this re-working of the Red unit.) The $15 program (including white tiger mask) credits Jay Smith as Director and Tim Holst, Vice President- Talent & Production. Great to see they've kept much of the traditional circus while updating it with the brilliant lighting, visuals (yes- the TV screen now works very well) - live music, and timely humor (Bello using "She's Beautiful".. and the clowns doing a wonderful spoof called - "Dancing With The Clowns" while the wondrous tiger cage is being lowered in its circular canister from the ceiling... then pulled-up. (Yes.. I was probably the only one thrilled at this!!) GO!! It's a show for everyone!! (Sure enjoyed the laughs from the two young boys behind me... and their Grandmother! The Red Unit looks very nice. I saw the Blue Unit in Atlanta and was dissapointed.
Also, Does anyone have any pictures of a dog and pony act? I haven't seen any!
Who turned all the lights off? Looks dangerous in the seats more than on the floor.
No.. we're all safe in the seats.. standing and singing the Star Spangled Banner.
Very moving.
