Today's Bulletin Board

From Jim Royal
I thought it might be of interest to those in your blogosphere. Kelly Miller opens tomorrow in Hugo on March 17th. The Gold unit plays Durant (50 miles away) on April 20 -22. In the Hugo Daily News Wednesday, RBBB had a full page ad for the Durant engagement. Is this the Sarasota thing all over again?

hi
rumors flying about folks being let go on the Blue............heard anything? Trying to sort truth from fiction.
thanks

From Buckles
I heard just yesterday that Vicenta Pages tiger act will go the Hometown Unit next year and will be replaced by a bigger cat act on the Blue Show.

From Bob Kitto
Dear Jim,
I would certainly put an ad in the Hugo paper if all I had was an auditorium show and there was a real, honest to God circus opening just 50 miles away.

From Buckles
Since my last entry above, I have learned that the Blue Show manager just got fired, this must be what anonymous was referring to. No idea who he is and the reason given I wouldn't bother to go into.
Also Mlle Shem Sheva got the axe, I think she had been a "no show" for quite some time anyway.

From Anonymous

Full page newspaper adds, I sure wish they would take some of that money and pay us for the products we sell them. They pay $1.50 for something and you go the show and see the public pay $9.00 for it, and we still have not seen a payment this season, but they still order. Last time this happened the Polack show was sold and run into the ground.

From Anonymous

"A bigger cat act on the Blue Show".... Who's it rumored the bigger act is?
*gasp*
It couldn't be that... a certain Ringling Alumnus is heading on the road for... A WHOLE SEASON???? Nah, too easy just to stay in the barn.

From Buckles
If you are referring to JRN 2nd, word from Hugo is that after Kelly-Miller opens in Hugo tomorrow, he won't return until the show reaches Ohio.

From Henry Edgar
i assume whatever madame shamsheeva wants she will get since she was the only thing reviewers wrote about on last year's blue show (the same reviewers in some cases who didn't even notice her when she was on the show a few years ago) she does have a nice act and i've always enjoyed watching her but she's more effective in a more intimate setting than a huge building. I would think her act might be better appreciated on the gold show. At any rate, i've never heard of another show depending on housecats as the star attraction. maybe the lights are not shining so brightly since she has a tiger act for competition now.

From Buckles
I don't think I made myself clear, the dismissal of the Blue Show manager today is a no-brainer since the turnover in Feld Entertainment management in the past 15 years has been quite brisk to say the least.
Madame Shim Sheva is not going to the Home Town Show or anywhere else. She was instructed to load up her household menagerie, presented with a road map and a Circus Report and shown the door.

I heard on the radio station out of Dallas today about the show KennyPoo is puttin on in Durant. It is at the Indian Reservation Casino,Auditorium. At least one could gamble too?

I'm just guessing that the blue show manager got 86'd because he didn't keep Madame Shamsheeva happy backstage with her tyrannical rants and weekly shopping list of exotic cheeses and imported water for her cats, birds and dogs.

The much beloved by her comrades on the Blue Unit, the kind and lovely Madam Shamsheeva is OFF THE WEB SITE. Where will the Wicked Witch of the West land now? Several years ago when THE MADAM was featured on the Red Unit a veteran circus person told me that she was the BIGGEST PAIN IN THE A** and this veteran was shocked that RBBB put up with her antics and demands.

Also heard the Madam had to take a week off to grieve for one of her animals......part of the problem maybe.

New York Times, March 17 LAST YEAR, reviewing the BLUE UNIT, direct quote, "This is no longer the greatest show on earth, as the trademark line calls it."

Shame, shame, shame on THE FELD POSSE.

Back to Hugo for a moment. K-M opens today (March 17) and C&B's season kicks off March 24 at Paris, TX. But does anyone the status of Culpepper-Merriweather this season?

Sham shiva nice acts, but she is one big head ache.I do not see why any producer in their right mind would want her in their back yard.

Madam had a wonderful, different animal act. It was lovely. Just not CIRCUS. I remember when I used to get too hody tody for my nickers, my dad called me "MADAM NUE" Grieving for your animal I can relate to, but show business is a business and the show must go on. Too many people counting on you. Grieve in private. I wish her the best with her act where ever she goes now that she knows the circus is not the place.

Cheap no she not cheap, I do have her head shot in my files ( I HAD A HARD TIME FIGURING OUT IF SHE WAS EVEN A WOMAN OR A PRE-OP TRANIE)and what she wanted on a daily. She is not cheap. I do not believe she was in morning. I would bet $100.00 she missed her apointment with Dr.feelgood. She is a crule trainer.

It is still a nice act and the crouds did like her, and to say it is not a circus act is not for me to say. I beleive circus is what ever it whats to be. Our custumers pay our saleries through the hands of the producers. If the crouds do not like what they see they do not come back, and the a fact.

Ringling should have paid Popovich what he wanted originally and then they wouldn't be in the mess they now find themselves with the Madame. They are trying out a replacement housecat act this weekend. May join the show permanently on June 1.
