RBBB Blue Unit 1979 #7

Around the track and into the long mount. You may notice that Charly Baumann is already in action and most of the tigers seated.
Our exit music after the long mount was Sousa's "Gladiator" then immediately into the tiger music. Mr. Ronk would make his announcement over the music which maintained the sense of urgency carried throughout the show.
If that were done today the Ken & Nicole Show would only last about a half an hour.

No rock show lighting, no story line, no "casual" circus wardrobe, just 100 per cent TRUE TO ITS NAME Greatest Show On Earth. This was the high water mark of the Feld era, never to be seen again.
RBBB Marketing/Promotions please note: this show played to excellent houses in MSG, NYC, unlike last year's paltry attendance at the NO RING RBBB, formerly known as The Greatest Show on Earth.
RBBB use to play the Garden for 13 weeks, now it is down to 2 1/2 while Big Apple plays a multi-month stand 25 blocks north and Cirque du Tie-Dyed Long Underwear is scheduled to do 10 weeks in the near future with follow-up plans to install a permanent show in NYC.
Ahhhh, what is the world coming to?

You're right Barney- THAT was the GSOE. I think we get exactly what's expected from second and third generation management who's too embarassed to use the word "CIRCUS" in the title of their show anymore. It's a shame.

their not embarassed they actually believe the're being clever !
They actually believe that people are so stupid that as long as you don't use the word "circus" people won't expect a circus when they go to the RINGLING BROTHERS and BARNUM AND BAILEY SHOW ! think of it folks ! it took a person with a college degree to come up with that marketing strategy ! Was it Harvard? Was it Yale? or was it Northwestern?

An newspaper article that was distributed through Circusvern last night interviewed a RBBB Red Unit member as saying that many people were disappointed with last years show missing the tigers, flying acts, and the rings. Well, folks, they're back and you won't be disappointed this year.

That's pretty sad when one unit is apologizing for the lack of show the other unit displayed the year before.

Of course the flip side is if the management doesn't really care, what difference does it make if they apologize or not?
