 This leaping lion photo was used for years. It was taken during the winter when the big cage was enclosed. Basically, Jules trained the cats in a big room with no assistance from the outside. His large lion groups were usually half males, half females.  |

He also trained in SPANISH
Jules came to the Zoo from working in his in-law's carnival in Mexico. His wife never did speak much English even when I knew her in the late 60s. You could tell when Jules was getting really excited because he'd start speaking a mixture of Spanish and English.
