From Jim Cole

To those die hard circus music fans who may be suffering form post traumatic stress after enduring the not-so-circus sounds that emit at rock concert volume levels through high-tech amplification systems at some of our better known circuses....there is a cure! A trip to the Sarasota Sailor Circus, and you will leave with the traditional sounds playing in your brain of what a circus band should sound like. It worked for me, I'm off my meds!

This all volunteer band of students and adults alike purify the airwaves with such classics as "Wedding of the Winds" for the flying act, "Gallop Go" for the close of the high wire, and a great circus gallop melody for unicycles. Also the pre-show has an air calliope concert...if that's not enough. There is some pre-recorded music used, but I think if the band played the whole show at this point, it would shock our system, and we might over-dose on nostolgia.

For those unable to catch Sailor Circus in Sarasota, there is always the Peru Circus Band to look forward to in July.
