Sunday is Email Day: Send your Emails, per the instructions attached, to the CT Legislators considering HB6599 - the bill that would eliminate elephants and therefore the Circus. MONDAY is phone call day: Try to get thru to each legislator on the Joint Committee for the Environment (Forget Diana Urban - she is the sponser) If you have time for just ONE call: Make it to the Secretary of that committee @ 860-240-0440. She is a very nice lady who will take your name, address, and notes of all your comments. LATEST DEVELOPMENT: The enemy intends to "attach" this bill to an unrelated bill that has nothing to do with this! I'm sure there is a political term for this. I call it "game playing". The other reps may be inclined to vote "YES" in order to achieve something else. From this point forward, alter what you have to say by asking that they vote NO to HB6599 and also asking that they NOT ATTACH it to another bill! If you have already sent a letter and an Email.....time to use the phone. If you have done all three, phones, letters, Emails.....a last minute Email or phone call to ask that they NOT ATTACH this bill is a wise decision. Please communicate to me what you are doing via Email or phone call. We really need to measure results. Bob Commerford has pointed out that we're getting some very professionally worded commentary that is valuable to us as a group. People - we had better get very well organized, because the enemy is! Lisa & I will be visiting RBBB RED UNIT in Atlantic City, NJ on 3/21-3/24.... and I will be away from Email. We will be in Atlantic City when the "VOTE" comes in. I will be keeping in touch. Once again, I am attaching the list of names, phones, emails for your convenience. Click to open. Hey Rube! Regards, Gary C. Payne, Dist. No. 2 Director Gary Cooper, Dist. No 2 Animal Task Force |

Good Morning gang,
I sincerely hope that all of you are jumping in there and getting this done. This bill is not the only one out there. The city of Minneapolis is considering an outright ban of all circus animals. California is trying to get the Sam Farr bill going again. It's happening all around us. Twelve years ago, the county I live in passed a law banning the housing of exotics while I was on the road. I never knew it happened until I came home. Nothing was even said to me, I guess because I already lived here. Once I gave up my animals and my licence and got out of the business though, there are no animals allowed here now except for a travelling circus.
Bob
