Terrell Jacobs (From Jim Cole)

Johnny Herriott's recent comment on the Terrell Jacob's photos, have prompted me to look further into my files. I just found this gem, which originally came from the Dave Hoover collection. What is so unusual about this, is that Terrell is holding a folding grandstand chair, rather than the normal bentwood style that we most often see used. Can anyone do any further ID on this photo....year, location???

When I was around Terrel he always wore a suit and tie like alot of show guys in those days and when he practiced he just took off the suit coat and went to work in the cage. Haywire and Little Nick would have everything ready, so this picture to me represents vintage Terrel Jacobs.

PS. I never saw Terrel in working clothes.

Terrel loved everything painted up circus style and he had the fronts of those hook on pedestals with a front board with his logo of a T with a loop around the bottom making a J. His cages and even arena wagon all had circus scroll.
Even the fronts of the permanent cages in his cat barn were decorative. He had clown Billie Burke paint for him and also Peru show painter and ex sheriff, Art Johns paint for him. I believe he was one of the early supporters of the circus model builders.

I know several with "balls" and one "no baller" who are capable of this type of act. I also know an angel. Its the USDA/peta/sanctuarys that are the cause of these people not coming forward with these great animal act like we had in the past. Really "seltzers" me off.

I believe the demise of producers willing to PAY for animal acts has had a much more serious effect on the availabilty of animal acts than PETA, government regulations and public reaction combined
