I only saw Terrell Jacobs once. I was a kid in the mid 50s and he had a small shopping center show. He worked five lions and had a small elephant.

I've seen wire walking cats but never saw the trainer "skin the cat", give the lion a boot, or whatever he was doing. Was this a signature trick in his act?

I'd be interested in some of you trainers expressing an opinion of this being in the act. As a layman I can imagine every kid in the audience ignoring the lion and saying, "I can do that!"
