The Salad Years! #7

Most of the pictures shown today and countless others, were taken by our good friend Pauk Guthiel, seen here with his lovely wife Diane at the Emmett Kelly Tent meeting last Fall in Hagerstown.

Buckles..Great stuff thanks to the long efforts of Paul Gautheil. I wonder how many people take the time to thank him and his wife for the years of documenting circus life in and out of the ring. HIs stuff bring to mind the photos of Rosalie Hoffman or Bob Good who also did the job of recording some great circus history. Chappie Fox was known as a historian but he alos wandered around for years with a small box camera and later was lucky enough to put his photos to use in his books...Paul Ingrassia

Always a pleasure to see Paul and Diane, a wonderful couple who I could talk to for hours...and don't get to often enough.

Others can also be forever grateful to Gerry and Kaye Scheimann for the professional-grade photos they took and gave to many performers just for the privilege of taking the shots. I have some right now being re-printed from their negatives, due back this week.
