Barbara Bel Geddes, Norman's daughter, grew up to be an accomplished actress. Among her career highlights are the oldest daughter in I REMEMBER MAMA and Miss Elle on Dallas.

My wife would tell you that more impotantly she was Midge -- the girl Jimmy Stewart should have been in love with -- in Hitchcock's Vertigo, one of the great movies of all time.

don't forget she was the original maggie the cat in the original production the great tennesse williams classic "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof." i guess we all have our favorite barbara bel geddes roles. i met her at a CBS party for Dallas cast years ago but didn't know of connection so we didn't talk about circus. a great actress and a great lady.

Barbara Bel Geddes was one of my favorite performers. She was always great. I never missed one part of "DALLAS". In fact I would not leave to go camping on a friday night until the program was over. My X finally bought me a TV that ran on the Winnabgo cigarett lighter. I quit dringing until Sue Ellen went off the wagon. I must say that the role of Miss Ellie was not my favorite for Barbara. I thought she was very miscast here. If you read the original book you can see why.

In the book the granddaughter was really JRs daughter by the wife of the alcoholic son who went on to have a show of their own "Knotts landing" .

John Ross was not JRs son either. Lucy was his daughter. Bobby and Pams son belonged to JR.
