No more Mr. Nice Guy!

A major announcement was made in yesterday's Sarasota Harold Tribune that the Ken & Nicole Gold Unit will be playing Sarasota, January 16-21 at Robarts Arena and that tickets would go on sale at 10:00 AM, one day ahead of our Showfolks Circus.
This is also the same facility our circus will appear in tonight.
It is general knowledge that tomorrow's Sunday newspaper would have been the normal edition for such an announcement but an exception was made in this case, no doubt to discourage attendance to our show.
I have gone to great pains not to use such expressions as "Money Grubbing Bastards" but it just so happens that yesterday I received in the mail my annual appeal from that organization to write letters to various Editors on their behalf.
Needless to say, that was filed away in the trash can.

Seems either silly or spiteful on the part of the Powers That Be back in Old Virginia. Any possibility that some first year marketing exec attached to the Gold Unit got the bright idea that she/he should get the jump on another show, not smart enough or circus savvy enough to know that sometimes you need to show some respect? Truly pathetic if somebody who actually knows better decided to take a swipe at the Showfolks Show because they don't like being criticised now and then, or worse yet if they decided that they really needed to maximize Gold Unit ticket sales at the expense of an annual one day only circus event. Be nice to think that wiser heads at Feld would apoligize for timing.

They could buy 10,000 dollars worth of tickets. That would be a nice apoligize jester. Money seems to be the only thing they understand or care about. Just when you think they are going to do something circusie they stab you in the back.

So won't theis make 3 circuses at the same venue, RBBB, Show Folks Circus, and also the Sahib Shrine circus right?

This has been repeated in any major city that hosts both a Ringling show and a Shrine date. The announcement is always made days ahead of the shrine show even if the RBBB will be a couple months out. cc
