A very good trainer, did just about every trick in the book. He is still presenting big cats, but in a totally different format at the former Jungle Larry's in Naples FL.
The closest tiger is Bengal the middle was added to replace the lioness Tina after my time with David and the far right is Prince. This was one of the finest three acts ever presented. I got the pleasure to work these for a short time when the lioness was still in the act in 1987.
Greetings from Munich. David is another of the great underrated trainers in this business. I value all that I learned from his mother and father, at the start of my career 32 years ago. He is very talented, and an asset to this profession. Wade Burck
At the time this photo was taken, I believe the act was 7 tigers. David was also providing his facilitys to Russian trainer Sarwat Begbudi, who had just obtained 4 white tigers from Josip Marcan, and needed a place to keep them until they could be shipped back to Moscow. Although they could not verbaly communicate with each other, the two trainers became great friends and learned much from each other.
You are probably right about the act being 7 Jimmy. When I left in 88, david had four young tigers that were walking on leashes at that time. His plan was to add them to the act.
Gosh, 17 year old picture. Glory days and not bad for a "park trainer" trying to be my heroes (GGW, Baumann, Burck, etc.) Miss those days and my circus friends.
David, You deserve all the credit you ever recieved and then some. I treasure my time with you, your family, and the parks. I guess I never realized how much I learned there until I was on my own. Kindest regards, Bob

This is the arena at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio where I worked my first lions in 1976, trained in Florida the previous winter. Boy how time flies.
