Al G. Barnes Circus 1935 #1

Chang Reynolds gave me these pictures in the mid 1960's and I wish I had paid more attention to him since he didn't include the dates on the back, 1935 is the approximation I arrived at.
These first pictures taken at the Barnes Show winter quarters in Baldwin Park, California. Posted by Picasa

Buckles, This is with out a doubt one of the best series of photos I have seen on your site! They enlarge to full screen, and some of the mud has actually spilled off the screen and onto my desk.

From what I have seen of Al G. Barnes photos, the tandem elephant teams and extra wide wagon wheels seem to be a show trademark.

I'll have to agree with Jimmy Cole, this is one of the best sets of photos you have made available for the BLOG readers. KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK Buckles.
I would have loved to be around in those days, but of course, if I had, I am sure I wouldn't be here today, posting on the GREATEST circus blog of all time.
