The "Alice in Wonderland" characters tell us that these first two pictures are the Pay Off Section of the 1967 Topsy-Turvy Land Spec.

Anonymous said...: I used to look forward every year to the themed specs that were produced on Ringling. Many circus fans can still easily name the year of the show by it's spec theme.

How about "King Neptune's Circus" , "The Wizard of Oz",or "Mardi Gras"? Or better yet, what was the last year they had a themed spec?

Anonymous said...: Much like movie re-makes, spec themes were sometimes re-hashed in later years. I think the King Neptune's Circus theme ('78 -'79) had been done prior, sometime in the early '50s.; 04 November, 2006 07:34
