A beautiful photo, but I'm drawing a blank on what liberty act that would be.

Buckles- This is totally unrelated to this picture, but I didn't know how else to ask you. My husband works at the Army's Transportation Museum and he was hoping that you had information or pictures about when the Army studyed the way circuses move (in trucks and on rails). They were hoping to learn something for their own movement of troops etc. He thought it was during the 1940s and that they traveled with Ringling for 6 months. Thanks and I really enjoy your site.

Am I wrong or is this the liberty act that was trained at Circus World and eventually purchased by George and Vicky Hanneford and subsequently worked by Cathy? Polish Arabians I believe they were. I'm just taking a guess; I could be way off base.

Check the Circus Historical Society web site message board. There was some discussion about that very subject about a year or so ago. You can link it through Buckle's home page, left column.

These are two of the nice six Polish Arabs we had at Circus World in Florida. Started in training by Trevor Bale nd I was able to put them in a wonderful act that we both enjoyed working. Toward the end of Circus world George Hanneford bought them for daughter Cathy to present and the rest is history.

Maria,
Regarding the question you asked, my knowledge on that subject is limited.
However, if you click on "Circus Historical Society" (in the left column) and once there click "Discussion Board".
You will be impressed with the information you can receive.

Buckles-Thanks for the information. I looked at that link and I found information about the army and circuses and it mentioned an article in Bandwagon. I called Dan Draper to see if he has that issue, my parents will see him tonight so I'm hoping that they can bring it to me this week.
Thanks for posting my question. Have a wonderful holiday.

I believe it would have been Barnum and Bailey during their European tour prior to WW 1. By that it would mean the German Army. Especially their field kitchens in how to feed the troops with mobile equipment.
