Cole Bros. Circus 1944 #2


(We were on the show from 1944 thru 1947, I was 9 this year and don't remember that much since we joined in mid-season and my mother took me home to Hot Springs in time for school. Buckles)

Buckles did the Wheatlys own Hot Springs when you went to school there? Every other store, hotel, etc had his name on it when I used to go to the spas. Took a while to get used to the smell. Girly shows took over the town the last time I was there. About 20 years ago.

When I was in High School you could do most anything you were man enough to do.
Traditionally Hot Springs tolerated gambling, prostitution and of course had the Arlington Race Track.
Barbara and I returned there in 2003 for my 50th Class Reunion. The down town area I remembered was pretty well abandoned, everything having moved southward toward the Interstate Highway.
Had a good time tho. Lots of memories.
