FERRY FORST
We are told that seeing is believing, but you will be tempted to doubt your eyes at the seemingly impossible feats performed by this astounding Austrian Illusionist. Posted by Picasa

This is Johnny Pugh's (Cole Bros. Circus owner) father in law.

Mr. Pugh has certainly inherited the art of shrinking things.

Mr. Forst's other daughter is married to ned toth, who is taking out the new Clyde Baetty Circus.

I understand that Mr. Toth is contemplating a 51 week season next year and has engaged the new Hawthorn white tiger act as a feature.

Is that 51 weeks on the road, or in the barn?

Anonymous, That's 51 weeks on the road. I will remain at the barn. Something to work on in your free time, Who is skilled enough to present the act, that Hawthorn has contracted??? Wade Burck

I seem to recall that Ned Toth was a relation to Frank McClosky but after this particular season Ned's cadillac and airstream were turned in and Ned was off the lot in short order. Hmmm, does anyone else remember this incident? Can anyone else confirm that it was indeed a cadillac and airstream? Instead of 51 weeks lets try 10 or 12 good solid weeks for the first time out. The Clyde Beatty name does NOT register with the under 40 crowd, try the IRVIN FELD CIRCUS, at least the lawsuit will get publicity in the local paper.

Mr. Burck, Will your son Adam be on Hamid Circus again next year? I saw him in Hayward, WI on Carden's summer show. Very well done.

Is that 51 weeks valid if the show folds sooner than expected. Are these long or short weeks? Whos name is on the check and contract?

I never met them but did see the act several times. Terrific presentation even in an arena format. Were the twins his daughters?? cc

Meanwhile back in Ferry Forstville,,it would have to be an Illusionists dream come true having twin daughters. I heard stories that for a long time even the people on the show didn't know there were two of them. Or is that another back yard tale?

51 Weeks, ha ha ha ha ha ha. I'm still laughing.

Dan H. Thank you for your kind comments about Adam. Yes he is going back on Hamid. Where I started with Hawthorn 30 years ago. Adam styled the elephant act with me when he was 3 on Hamid, so he likes it there. Assisting him is his brother Eric, who is very capable, but has no desire to perform. Wade Burck

One thing Mr. Pugh hasn't shrunk is his route - March to November every year, everyone gets paid.

The new Cole Show stinks to high heaven. The public doesn't buy a ticket to look at the route card, they buy a ticket to see a good show. Unfortunately they've been disappointed the past few years and repeat business has dropped off as evidence by the many poor houses. I have visited several times each season and have never seen more than a 1/3 house. You can't pay the bills with empty seats.

Does anyone else think it is insulting that the new Cole Brothers Circus featured an aerial production number with the Michael Jackson tune "THRILLER"?
Here is an entertainer that has been involved in numerous unhealthy situations with children and the circus wants to be associated with this wacko by framing the aerial number around his 20 something odd year old song.
As a parent and grandparent I was quite taken back; it's insulting to families and families BUY TICKETS.
Note to Anonymous regarding Pugh's extensive route card: The Declaration of Independence wasn't signed by anyone named "Anonymous". If you believe in what you say then sign your name. It's a free country and you have the right to your opinion. Anonymous postings defending a show are always suspicious; like principal member of the company trying to defend their leader.
Have I stirred things up enough today?

Well maybe it's just me but Pugh's program doesn't seem to change much from year to yerar, and that would be a problem if it was good. it seems like a boring show. He needs to get a new cat act, a new elephant act, and a new program all together.

Isn't it a shame that the Felds, Johnny Pugh and associates are going to kill the goose that laid the golden egg.
