John Herriott is correct on Gene Scott...Gene use to be my Sarasota winter neighbor in Sarasota until about two years ago...He and his wife sold their property on Midwest Pkwy and moved south of Sarasota...I use to take him some of Buckles elephant items regarding his dad...He enjoyed them...Don't have Gene's current address..
Tony Scott was not in Thousand Oaks in my time. When Arky became ill, both boys were there with him to the end. Arky was attended by Liz Muchmore until his passing on April 11, 1968. Gene remained as the other son returned to Sarasota. Tex and Ina Scarbrough, co-owners of Jungleland, announced they were going to adopt Gene, took him in, and had him in school. It was quite some time after Arky was gone, when Gene decided also to return to Sarasota to be with his mother. A number of us in the Oaks were glad he made this decision and was not adopted by the Scarbroughs. He was a very fine and likeable young man, and deserved far better. I would certainly welcome an opportunity to renew acquaintanceships with Gene and his brother.
