I realize this is not the place anoung all of these beautiful ladies but does anyone know why Kelly-Miller abruptly closed early? What is the future for K-M. I caught the show at the CFA meeting in the Chicago area and enjoyed it.
Kelly-Miller did not abrubtally close early and are playing out their route. It is not unusual for shows to go up for sale ay a seasons end for various reasons known only by the seller. I doubt if it anything too earth shattering and the rumour mill keeps cranking away. I understand pay days are and have been regular all season.
I have been on Kelly Miller for the last 3 years and we close this season on Sunday October 22 in Antlers, Ok. Business has been good, we have a great show, and we have been paid every week- business as usual. The Rawls and Fry families are not taking the show out next season; like anonymous said- for reasons only known to them.
The t is me Tavana I goofed before I sent that last message. I also meant to say that at my speech at the CFA convention I said that even in the year 2006 tented circuses were still here. I didn't know then that we would be losing this one. It is sad to see a circus die, so I hope someone does buy this beautiful show. No other form of entertainment can replace what circus brings to people.
We were told " They" will not be taking the show out and it is up for sale. If someone buys it I don't know if that would include the name of Kelly Miller also.
I sure hate to see the Rawls' leave K-M behind, it was the cleanest, neatest lot I ever visited. A beautiful show and a big loss if someone doesn't continue with it. David, you have been a great part of this business and will be missed.
Back to the cage act. Now that I think of it I sent Buckles a picture of one of the huge dogs "GANDOLPH". "PARKER" the grooming ginny pig is in that same picture.
David, you have run a first class operation for the last several years. You will be missed. I have a hard time with the notion that nothing is forever.
In line of thought with J Goodall, I'd get off very late from the Compound, and sit in the Tiger Room with my boilermakers, listening to Mary Hopkin sing "Those Were the Days."

t, in your comment, did you mean THEY won't take the show out next year or the show WON'T go out next year period?

I own two dogs that look like this. Huge I use tree stumps as seats.

Aren't the Kelly Miller Elephants owned by the Millers? Or did Rawls and Company buy them?
