We worked w/ Evelyn in the mid 60's She applauded my rush to help when a cat charged one day - I think her exact words were "I wish you had been there when that damn cat took a swipe at me and took out my very expensive left(?) boob!!) I never learned how badly she had been hurt, but was most upset at losing a breast implant!! Ahead of her time all the way around. cc
Evelyn led a Spartan life on the indoor dates. She would fashion a dressing room out of side wall behind the cat cages and slept on an Army cot. In 1963 at the Cleveland Grotto date she was the show's feature act and prior to each peformance a Cadillac Convertable would pick her up and she would lead spec perched on the back hatch. After the act she was delivered back to her living quarters where she immediately donned coveralls so she could spot the cages as they came down the ramp. I'm sure the audience thought that she had been whisked away to the Hilton Hotel.
Evelyn was my aunt. We were very close. It was fun reading these post about her. She was so full of energy when she was alive. She passed away almost 20 years ago in Florida. We have her ashes and her last husband's ashes who passed away about 10 years ago.

Nice looking lion and it appears he's geting ready to take a bow as well.
I know very little about this lady, and I'm hoping someone will comment with some information about her.

Never saw her act but heard about losing the boob. Didn't she feature a liger in her act?
To Jim A, I do know this about her, it wasn't a liger, but rather a "tiglon" (female lion/male tiger) a female that she named Tillie.

Who trained this act? I haven't seen anyone mention it's origin.
