Bucky Steele Elephants #1 (Wayne Jackson Collection)

These pictures are rather convoluted with Bucky Steele the only common denominator. Maybe Mr. Jackson will elaborate.
Here we see Bucky with "Zola" and a newborn calf "Shoney" but no details as to the location or the idenity of the people in the sleigh.

According to Bucky's book, Shoney was born 10-22-81. His mother was Wimpy.

Slate in N.C.

Did Steele have a place in Texas?

With all the heavy clothes everyone has on, including Bucky it appears to be a little chilly to have a newborne baby elephant outside for whatever the reason might be.

For Duchess Rebecca: Bucky has a place in the East Texas town of Jefferson, the last I knew. Long before that, he had property out on Haymarket Road, in scintillating Seagoville, that shining mecca of the circus world, where you have to drive 22 miles to get a beer.

the person in the front of the sleigh passenger seat is bucky's brother Gary. Gary was a college professor and great humanitarian who speaks several languages and has traveled numerous times to Africa helping native peoples. He and Bucky were polar opposites.

Does anyone have more information regarding a book by Bucky Steele? This is the first I have heard of one.

contact either Cherri-Lee or Boobie Steele for information on book...yes Bucky wrote one and it is very extensive. And BTW, I am the one that took that picture for the family Christmas card. Shoney was wizzed thru, for a snap shot, as he was being walked around for exercise...

This was taken in Seagoville Texas at Christmas. It is my father Bucky, my uncle Gary (Buckys brother), his father Buck Steele Sr (Buck Steele's Wild West) my brother Bob Steele.

There are still limited copies of his book.
