Mr. Woodcock,
Would you have a chronological history of all of the elephants of
the"Honest Bill Newton" show?
The reason I ask,is that there are two elephant skulls in the collections dept. of the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History in Norman OKL.
reportly they were donated by Honest Bill Newton in the 1920's,but I believe the details concerning them have been lost or misplaced over the years.
I had read where two elephants died
from an ukown disease,
during the first winter at Ada Oklahoma, one in December 1919 and one in Januuary 1920.The first one was donated to the University.
Later in October 1922 a 23 year old female"Miss Boston",
8,400 lbs ,died of pneumonia at the winter quarters.
Reportly her carcass was sent to the Univ. of Oklahoma.
It was reported in the paper that the elephant was born in Boston(?)
