Dutch Ricardo was still working for Chapman's Circus in the UK in the early '30s, presenting a group of lions and leopards. He must have been an old man then. I am not sure when he died.
Wade: In looking him over, my only conclusion is that he seems inbred--not at all well built, and clearly uncommonly docile. To be honest, I cannot define his subspecies, and defer to the opinion of Duchess Rebecca.

Mabel Stark told me stories of Captain Dutch, and spoke of him with great respect.
Jim Clubb, Roger Smith, help me out here. What the hell breed of lion is this???????????
He is incoginto and trying to be inconspicous. He is the KING of BEAST in real life. Don't try to tell him otherwise.

This also looks like a young lion as spots are visible on legs.
