"Uyenos Troupe of Japanese Acrobats" This is the first appearance in Europe of this famous troupe. Albert Uyens comes from a well known acrobatic family, his father, mother and grandfather all doing the same kind of act. His grandfather belonged to the first Japanese troupe (the "Misuta") which visited America. His mother toured the world. Albert joined his father's troupe, which was also known as the Uyenos, at the age of seven. The troupe at the time had 22 members.
