To Raffaele De Ritis


This is another picture from the 1937-38 Althoff Program showing the Caroli Family. I don't recall ever having seen a three-high pyramid on horesback.

YES, There was a act on CB&C circus in "60" that did it. im lost on the name of the act.

Wonderful picture. The guys are from left Francesco, Enrico and Ernesto Caroli. Francesco became the last greatest white-face clown of the century, and the greatest equestrian trainer.The best riders from Zingaro or Cheval Theatre came from his courses.

A fasinating photo ; and what seams to me a brilliant use of the extra horse along the Ring Curb to stabilize & add more security to the foundation of this hair-rasing display. ( NO wires ! )
