Matthies created his famous 15 tiger act in the early 30s, and was strictly connected with the Lorenz Hagenbeck family, even performing with otHer circuses. He was responsable of the menagerie for the Asiatic tour.
After the closing of the circus, he went to Usa with RBBB.
