I heard about this engagement at Agricultural Hall. The circus was on his way back from his two-year tour in Asia going home to Germany.
The correct name of the circus was "Carl Hagenbeck",founded in 1916 by his son Lorenz, after Carl's death. The circus stopped in 1946, if I remember correctly.
Actually, Carl never owned a regular circus, except for a brief attempt for a single season in the 188os.
This operation have nothing to do with the Willy Hagenbeck circus and other Hagenbeck names, another intricated story running up to the early 80s.
