From New York to Hugo #6

I was in Jr. High School at our home in Hot Springs when this picture was taken (3/16/50). I was later told that they walked these 12 big elephants from the winter quarters to down town Hugo for some sort of Civic event. Pictured are Jimmy Hamiter, Bill Woodcock Sr., Irish Kelly, Alonzo Dever, John Carroll, Fred Logan and Smokey Jones. First five recognizable elephants are "Elsie", "Margaret", "Sally", "Dixie" and "Lop-Eared Vic". Awaiting them in town were the two Little Bob Stevens elephants, "Sparks Babe" and "Gollmar Palm".
