Isn't this a lovely photo? In 1988 Charly and I had a two hour conversation sitting on a couple of bales of hay. He was kind, friendly and animated as he told stories about his cats. Interestingly, one of the things I recall most vividly about that day was the moment he introduced himself (Like I didn't KNOW?!), as we shook hands, mine disappeared into his dinner-plate sized hand, and I thought my hand bones might dissolve like styrofoam! Mr Baumann made a striking impression on people both in and out of the arena

I believe it was a whole unit "White" that went to Australia, because Charly asked me if I wanted to go with him ?
