John Pawling Circus 1949 #4


This is Capt. Engerer's cat act, also well painted and what appears to be about a 100' bale ring top in the background.

There it is--Capt. Engerer, if this is the Pawling show. I was with Mr. Beatty in 1964, when we got word Engerer was killed by that Monte lion, at the park in South Carolina.

Answer to question # 294 (Oct, 22004) from the CHS website Discussion Board.

"The Clyde Beatty/Tom Mix Show in 1945 in the Southern State's. He was billed as the Worlds only one arm lion trainer, had a great act and a great showman untill his death in 1964 when the lions killed him."
