Sorry to hear about Freddy Logan.
He was a Prince of a guy!I remember the first time I met him was on Joe McMahon's Kelly-Miller.
He was still doing the fightinh lion act and was a friend ever since.

When I arrived at the Carson and Barnes winter quarters in Hugo, OK in Feb. of '81, I was spending a few solitary hours cleaning up the cat barn. In a corner, I came across an 8x10 b&w glossy of Fred Logan sitting on a big male lion. I took it home, promising myself I would mention this picture when I met him. A few years later, I did. I said, "I guess I never realized you worked lions, Freddy. I thought you were exclusively an elephant man." He smiled and said, "Yeah, the years pass and people forget what you've done." I beg to differ, sir. We'll remember. God bless you. See you down the road, Fred.

God has too many bull hands in Heaven and we're short-handed here on earth. The last of the real Captains.

A truely great man will be missed and I'm sure there are plenty of happy elephants getting an old friend back. Best wishes and condolances to the Logan Family. Got to see Charlie Grays tribute, little logan in canada in June. Special thanks to Charlie and staff for the tour. Will be forwarding some pictures on to Buckles for the Blog.

I believe I feel the same that everyone else does when I say Anytime I saw Mr. Fred on the lot, I was always welcomed as an old friend even if it was 10 years since we saw each other last. The last really great performances by Fred that I saw, were on the Beatty show when they opened the rings in the second half to make one giant oval, having all the elephants moving at once and of course his legendary walking long mount out the end of the tent. Ladies and Gentlemen, Children of all ages, you have just witnessed the finest presentation of performing, playful, pachyderms anywhere in America today. Thank you Mr. Fred Logan and Family. May God bless you all, always!

We have been saddened to hear the news of Fred's passing. Our condolences go out to all of his family.
Fred has been our friend for over 30 years. We spent many days visiting with him on the Beatty-Cole show and on our numerous trips to Florida. If any of you corresponded with him you know his letter writing ability had it's own stlye and his letters were just full of all types of circus news. I always looked forward to receiving them.
My two sons adopted Fred as their uncle. When visiting him on the BC show both he and son Walter made sure they always had plenty of Popcorn,Cotton Candy and an elephant ride any time they wanted. He also put them to work selling peanuts which they looked forward to. A memory they will never forget.
You could always count on a hearty welcome and a kind word from Freddie. I will miss him.
Now he joins his beloved wife Ora, or as he lovingly called her "Mom" and son Walter who was taken from us way too soon. God Bless!

I love this picture of my Uncle Freddy! (His wife, Ora, and my mom are sisters.) He looks so young and handsome. I am searching for all pics I can find of him and all of his family. I know that a lot of people loved him and miss him as I do. *Sara Leanne Allred*
