The photo of the Wards triggered great memories. As a young guy, just getting started in the biz, I would drive Jack La Pearl up to Baraboo to visit Mayme. She lived across the river from the Museum and used to make the wardrobe for the parade. I would sit in her kitchen entralled with the jackpots those two would cut.

Thank you Buckles, for this great service you are providing us with.

I've seen credits for Mayme Ward being in charge of wardrobe on the Mills show in the 1952 Route Book.

Someone tell me if I'm right that Mayme Ward is the only woman catcher to successfully swing up to a triple-somersaulting flyer.

Mayme was also wardrobe mistress on the Gil Gray show in the early 60's. Pee Wee Pinson drove the prop truck so Mayme drove his car over the road, a beautiful black 58 Chev. Impalla. On an overnight jump in the middle of Winter in the Dakotas, a horse jumped in front of her and she hit it. Luckily she did'nt get hurt but it knocked the windshield out. She drove the car a 150 miles with no windshield, you think she wasn't tough, but she was a sweetheart too.

My name is Kalina Ward and my father was the last generation to be in the circus what a life I could've had. Tec nowdays people don't need circuses when they have it on the phone already! I love my family history though, wish I could've met my talented family members. I also have books and things papers news articles envelopes of the wards and their accomplishments and the history it's so awesome! Gotta love the family!
