Sarasota Quarters 1956-57 #5

I took this picture from the doorway of an elephant car as we were pulling out of quarters. There were 28 elephants left behind including "Big Babe" (Barnes Show) who was among the old elephants that were taken out each morning and placed around the quarters for the day. My dad once mentioned that she was the first elephant he ever rode when working for Cheerful Gardner on the Barnes Show. For that reason I crawled up on her one day and had my picure taken but have managed to lose it somehow.
